Clean energy vehicle technology routes should also be diversified

This year's government work report suggests encouraging the use of clean energy vehicles. Is there any change in the way we often talk about developing new energy vehicles? My understanding is that there is no essential change, but the vehicle type is much broader.
For more than 100 years, the energy and power systems used in automobiles have been continuously improved and evolved. Currently, environmental and energy issues are becoming more prominent, driving the development of automobile technology towards lower emissions and more energy conservation. But the emissions of cars not only include the emissions of driving, but also the emissions from energy storage and transportation and injection processes, including the process of automobile manufacturing and the process of scrapping. So we need to control the emissions of harmful substances as well as carbon dioxide.


As is known to all, the electric car is no emissions in the process of driving, but it is not completely clean cars, in electric power production and transportation link need to consume calories, it will be a emissions of carbon dioxide, fossil energy also produces a certain amount of harmful substances.

We can use a simple way to compare the electric vehicle and fuel vehicle emissions of carbon dioxide (here is passenger cars), the electric car hundreds of kilometers of power consumption in about 10 to 40 degrees electric range; Petrol engine cars have a gas mileage of about 5 to 20 litres, and the advanced hybrid fuel vehicles can run at less than 5 litres. Using a carbon emission factor, we can estimate how much total emissions will be produced by each of the two cars.

By comparison, we can see that, first, electric cars are not zero emission; Second, the carbon emissions of electric cars are significantly lower than those of petrol cars; Third, carbon emissions are proportional to the level of energy consumption; Fourth, high electric car emissions are comparable to those with low fuel consumption. This further illustrates that the concept of clean energy vehicles is relative.

China has a wide geographic market, a wide range of vehicles and a wide range of energy sources, so I think China's clean energy vehicles should be diversified. Each region should choose the energy and automobile structure suitable for the region according to its own characteristics. I think at present, the typical clean energy vehicles mainly has three kinds: one is the pure electric vehicles, including to make sure that the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle charging, the second is the fuel cell cars, three is natural gas a hybrid car. If electric cars and fuel-cell cars are powered by renewable energy, that is the ideal clean-energy vehicle. So we're particularly going to push for clean energy vehicles in the wind, solar, and hydroelectric areas. There are abundant natural gas resources in the west of China, and natural gas vehicles with advanced technology are also a good choice.

After more than ten years of efforts, China's clean energy automobile industry has developed rapidly. Data show that from 2011 to May 2017, over 1 million new energy vehicles have been sold in China. In 2016, there were 17 new energy vehicle enterprises selling more than 10 000 vehicles worldwide, 9 of which were in China, and the overall advantages were obvious. At the same time, there are 5 million natural gas vehicles in China.

The power battery industry is growing fast. In the first half of 2016, byd and ningde have been among the world's largest. At home, the proportion of enterprises in the top 10 is 78%, which indicates that the industry has a certain concentration, which is a good phenomenon. Moreover, important progress has been made in infrastructure development. In 2016, the number of charging piles in China reached 180,000, and a number of cities made excellent achievements in the construction of charging piles.

The new energy auto industry is expected to enter a period of rapid development in 2020. In 2020, according to the international energy agency forecasts, pure electric vehicles will be sped up, the market will after 2030 fuel cell vehicles will also formed a certain scale, and conventional cars will show downward trend since 2020. In line with current trends, pure internal combustion engines are expected to disappear by 2030.

In addition, hybrid power will become a major energy saving measure for conventional fuel and natural gas vehicles. The country has formulated the fuel economy standard for passenger cars, coupled with the implementation of the "double integral" policy, which will drive enterprises to reduce the fuel consumption, while the most effective measures to reduce the fuel consumption are the hybrid power.

Facing the new situation, the new energy automobile industry should actively respond to adjustment policies and develop products with market competitiveness. Generally speaking, China's new energy automobile industry has not entered the stage of rapid development, and is still in the import cultivation period.

I believe that there are three main signs of the rapid development period of the industry: first, the transformation of the main driving force to the market as the main driving force; Second, purchase subsidy to exit, instead of the environment, energy factor normal encouragement policy; Third, private buying. Therefore, for the new energy vehicle enterprises, the most important thing is to consider selecting and adjusting technical solutions without subsidies to develop products with market competitiveness.
